MINUTES/NOTES – MIDWEST 305 SPRINT CARS
February 7, 2010
Story City, Iowa

The Midwest 305 Sprint Cars Board meeting was held at Story City Happy Chef on February 7, 2010. The meeting was called to order by President Bob Hildreth at 2:00 p.m.

Members present:
Bob Hildreth, Mick Fishel, Matt Stephenson, Dave Sporaa, Mark Aaron, Mark Ferguson, Keith Carlberg, Shad Sporaa.

Mark Ferguson read the minutes from the last meeting. Matt Stephenson moved for approval, which was seconded by Dave Sporaa.

Shad Sporaa gave Treasurer’s report. He reported that there was $1,267.73 in the account. Shad paid the website domain name for the year totaling $119.00. Dave Sporaa moved to accept the report, which was seconded by Matt Stephenson.

Old Business:
Matt Stephenson showed the Board the new Midwest 305 Sprint Car tattoos that they commissioned him to get. They are 2x2 in size and he purchased 1050 of them. He submitted at claim for $140.00, including setup charges. They will be handed out to group members to give kids visiting them in the pits. Shad Sporaa motioned to pay Matt the $140.00 charge incurred, which was seconded by Dave Sporaa. Motion carried unanimously. Shad will issue a check to Matt.

New Business:
An error was noted in printing the group’s rules for 2010-2011. Line 11. Valve Train should read: Stud girdles optional, any valve spring may be used, no rev kits. Mark Ferguson will see that the error is corrected.

Dave Sporaa had some people question him about the Ford rules. After careful consideration, the Board moved that the rules will stand, as listed, through 2011.

Bob Hildreth will send out Thank You cards to our contingency sponsors for the prizes they provided for our banquet.

Wayne Redmond has resigned from the Board of Directors, due to health reasons. Matt Stephenson nominated Mark Aaron to replace Wayne, which was seconded by Dave Sporaa. The motion carried unanimously. Mark Aaron accepted the position and his name and contact information will be added to the Contact page on the web site.

Two more dates have been set on the 2010 schedule:

May 22 at Hamilton County Speedway, Webster City
July 2 at Mineral City Speedway, Fort Dodge
More dates are still pending.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shad Sporaa and seconded by Dave Sporaa.

The next meeting will be held March 7, 2010 at Story City Happy Chef at 2:00 p.m.

Meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
