MINUTES/NOTES – MIDWEST 305 SPRINT CARS

April 3, 2011

Story City, Iowa

The Midwest 305 Sprint Cars Board meeting was held at Story City Happy Chef on April 3, 2011. The meeting was called to order by President Bob Hildreth at 2:00 p.m.

Members Present: Mick Fishel, Bob Hildreth, Mark Ferguson, Dalton Ryder, Dan Ebright, Mark Aaron, Shad Sporaa

The minutes from the previous meeting were read by Mark Ferguson.  Mark Aaron motioned to accept the minutes, which was seconded by Bob Hildreth.

The Treasurer’s Report was given by Shad Sporaa. There is $2,816.66 in the account. Dan Ebright motioned to accept the report, which was seconded by Mark Ferguson. There were no new claims to present.

Old Business:

Dan Ebright can make new decals for $.80 each. Bob Hildreth suggested purchasing 100 of them in black and 100 of them in white. Each paid member will get one decal and every car needs to display one. The decals will retail for $2.00 each. Shad Sporaa made the suggestion into a motion, which was seconded by Mark Aaron. The motion carried unanimously.

Dan Ebright made a motion that the group purchase 2 $25 gas cards to be given by luck of draw to those finishing 5th on back. The motion was seconded by Mark Ferguson and the motion carried unanimously. Shad Sporaa will purchase 20 cards. Any remaining cards will be given away at the banquet at the end of the year.

New Business:

The group asked that the payouts be posted on the web site. Mark Ferguson will see that this is done. This way everyone will know upfront what the payout will be for all positions. Bob Hildreth clarified that tow money is only paid to those not able to start the feature.

Two more races are pending, June 27 at Marshalltown and June 29 at Independence. Bob Hildreth is still waiting for the final word from the respective promoters.

The question was raised about Midwest 305 accepting Jackson’s tech. Both groups have a tech person. Midwest 305 uses paint when the car passes inspection and Jackson uses a wire seal through a head bolt after inspection. Since both groups will be racing together several times this year, people have asked if they are inspected from one group, will the other group accept it. After discussion, the group tabled it until the next meeting.

The next meeting will be held May 1 at Story City Happy Chef at 2:00 p.m.

Mark Aaron motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Dan Ebright.

The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
