April 6, 2008

Midwest 305 Sprint Cars Inc. met on April 6th at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum.  It was voted to have a new points system for 2008.  The new system includes a two point drop in the feature and heat races to pay 25-20-15-10-5-4-3-2-1.  The feature points payout will be 100-98-96-94-92-90-etc.

We wish to thank Wayne Redman for the use of the cubic inch pump, Dick Crook for the scope and once again Randy Reinhard for the donation of the whistler.  We now have all the tech equipment need to tech our competitors.  This will hopefully put us all on the same playing field.

The next step was to make a invert we could all live with, after all this is why fans come to see races.  We will have the first heat winner draw a pill 4-6-8 for the invert in the feature.  This should help make a race for the fans.  Our official tech people will be Dean Kanslaar, Jim Tweet, Jeff Morris, and Lee Clark. All your past help and actions will be honored, thank you for all your help to make us a great Sprint Car racing organization, we would not have gotten here without the help of each and every one of you.

March 3, 2008

Midwest 305 Sprint Cars Inc., met on March 3rd at Story City Happy Chef for a membership meeting.  It was decided by the members for all new rookie drivers to have a flag flying from the rear of their car.  We have several new drivers that have not driven a sprint car and we feel the flag would act as a safety feature for the other drivers.  This was approved by both new drivers as well as the old timers.  We have received the new test equipment that was donated by Randy Reinhard; the whistler will be the final decision for the compression check.  We would like to thank Randy for the fine donation, it will be used!  Once again we ask if you want to be a trophy sponsor to get with Bob Hildreth or Lee Clark for more information.  We need 12 more sponsors to complete the 2008 season.

November 28, 2007

On November 11 our awards luncheon was held at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, and we were joined by two surprise guests; Al and Bobby Unser. They were present in support of Presidential candidate Bill Richardson, and participated in our awards luncheon by holding a question and answer session, and a photo opportunity for points champion Marty Stephenson and all that received awards. Our 2008 schedule was read and approved for Webster City and Ft. Dodge .We will be posting it real soon.  In 2008 there are 13 races scheduled between the two tracks, with Webster City racing on Saturday nights and Ft. Dodge on Friday nights. We will be at Allison, but do not have the dates finalized yet.  For 2008, a safety rule is to be implemented for anyone getting in a race car for any reason.  The person must be wearing safety equipment, such as fire suit and helmet.  The 2008 season is going very fast as far as getting races scheduled early. It seems northern Iowa sure loves sprint cars; we keep getting great reports on our racing organization all the time and we pleased to hear it.  Until next time, Midwest 305 Sprint Cars, Inc.
